Increasing Traffic with Cross Promotion

April 29, 2008

As pay-per-click costs increase, companies need to find new ways to save money to get visitors on their landing pages. In addition, companies need to have a plan to not only drive traffic to a website, but to gain customer loyalty for repeat visits.

Too often companies only focus on increasing website traffic as their method of strategic Internet marketing. While it is good to increase website traffic, the ultimate goal should be to make sales and generate leads. Just having traffic is not enough to make a website successful.

Creating a Niche Website or Blog

April 29, 2008

Deciding on a popular niche subject to base your website or blog about is crucial in determining whether you will make money or not off of your articles. This will give you a base to develop from and you can target a general audience with a set of keywords that they are most likely to be looking for on search engines.

The MySpace Explosion and It’s Dangers

April 29, 2008

The MySpace website has received a lot of press lately, and so by now, most families in the country area familiar with this site. A seemingly innocent site where teens could meet, chat and exchange ideas turned out to be a not so innocent place for web predators and this became hot news.

All of the news reports and news shows jumped on the story and warned of the dangers of these kinds of networking sites; theyglossed over the fact that over 24 million members use this online community and the problems being reported were concerning a handful of incidents.

Driving Traffic To Your Blog

April 29, 2008

If you have a blog, you’ve probably realized that truckloads of traffic don’t pour in from day one offering comments and criticisms of your carefully crafted prose. In fact, most bloggers are quite fortunate if they get traffic at all for a while without some kind of ‘advertising’. This advertising can come in many shapes and forms but is vitally necessary if you are seeking growth for your blog.

Why isn’t Article Marketing Getting Me the Results I Want??

April 28, 2008

Article marketing is one of the hottest ways to get traffic to your websites. However not everyone is having success with it.

When a marketing tactic fails to work, it’s easy to blame the people promoting it as the next great way to build your business. Obviously they don’t know what they’re talking about…

Or do they?

I run an article site, and one of the biggest problems I see is poor quality. Too many articles are pounded out as fast as possible without regard for quality, grammar, punctuation or anything else. Article marketing is the great golden ticket that will solve a website’s problems, all without serious effort.

Business Opportunity Income: Lead Capture Secrets

April 28, 2008

A lot of opportunity owners think that the best way to build their business is by finding business opportunity seekers and somehow letting them know about their opportunity. This usually means buying business opportunity or “biz opp” leads and directly soliciting those leads–most often through e-mail but sometimes through phone (or “cold calls”) or even snail mail.

The problem with the e-mail approach is you run a very high risk of being accused of spamming. Even if you buy “double opt-in” leads and your lead seller assures you that these leads are safe to e-mail, unless these people directly requested e-mails from you, your best bet is not to contact them via e-mail.

April 28, 2008

The Internet has changed the way publishing is done forever. Instead of taking months, or even years, to build a following for your writing, you can begin to build a following in just days.

Building a following for your writing is crucial to your publishing success. Without readers, you have no one to read your writing.

Although I know most writers hate marketing, if you take the time to market your writing, you will build your following more quickly and see results.

Can Meta Search Engines Gain A Substantial Foothold In The Search Engine Arena?

April 28, 2008

Most meta-search engines use similar technology and there are few differences from one to the next. Infospace, the company that currently owns some of the largest and most comprehensive meta-searches, operates four separate meta-search engines that are basically the same with only small differences in their technology.

Infospace and its related Meta searches take up around 1% of the search market, and bring in over $250 million in market revenue as of 2005 (Yahoo! Finance). There are numerous, tiny little start-ups and individuals bidding for the remaining search traffic.

Web Analytics – Convert Browsers to Buyers

April 28, 2008

Web Analytics is not the sexiest topic in the Search Engine world today, but is nonetheless very practical in measuring the performance of your website. So many people I come across have absolutely no idea what the traffic patterns are like on their website, much less their return on investment (ROI) or how much it costs to acquire a customer.

Mind you, many of these companies are giving thousands of dollars a month to SEM firms, PPC budgets, email campaigns, viral marketing and more, having no idea of what this investment really means, where the money goes, and if the company they’re with is charging a fair price.
